About Dogmachine Media

Jeremiah - Founder and Creative DirectorABOUT THE OWNER
(Founder, Owner, Creative Director)
Other businesses: eBandLive.com, Metrofader

I'm a drummer and I used to play in Maiden Korea. They have a new drummer and they rock; check em out. Previous bands: Trouble With Stereo, Flat Earth Conspiracy, Wrath of the Left Hand of Burns, The Ivy League and the others I'm too embarrassed to mention. I've been playing drums since age 8 and have been playing live shows since I was 12. Lots of musicians on my dad's side of the family, at last count about 6 drummers, 11 guitarists, 5 bassists, 3 pianists, 3 accordionistas, 3 bajo sexto players and 8 singers. I listen to mostly punk, indie, emo and spanish music but also dig Reggaeton, Blues, Classical, World, some Pop and some Rap. Not a fan of almost all Country and Top 40 crap that rapes your eardrums on a daily basis over the radio. I started Dogmachine Media with $20 in my pocket. I design CDs, websites, content management systems, posters, tshirts, stickers and a bunch of crap for bands, record labels and music-related companies. Music inspires me artistically. In June of 2006, I started a music software company called eBandLive. That keeps me plenty busy.

As for boring stuff, I also work as an information security professional (CISSP) doing things like ethical hacking, secure network engineering, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments. On occassion, I develop information security courses for a local college. I co-wrote a small part of a book security book by Syngress. I don't get too wrapped up in the yuppie corporate stuff. You are not your career or the car you drive.

Besides all that, I like playing drums, listening to music, collecting music, watching live music, working out, digital painting, designing, art, Photoshop, hanging out with my g/f, playing Guitar Hero, photography, reading, writing, movies, being an entrpreneur and steganography. Things I couldn't live without: music, my drums, my workout equipment, my iPod, my laptop and Photoshop.

ABOUT DOGMACHINE MEDIA
Dogmachine Media was founded in the summer of 1997 by Jeremiah. Dogmachine Media actually began as an independent record label called Dogmachine Records. Jeremiah started the label as a way to release his band's first record. Flat Earth Conspiracy's "Products of the System" was the first record ever released. Soon after, a number of records were released under the guise of Dogmachine Records with some success. Along the way a compilation disc in the late 90's called "Ball Management" landed some cool bands like: Autopilot Off (then Cooter), Staring Back, Falling Sickness, Kid With Man Head, Boy Kicks Girl, Lucky 7, Sick Shift, Unsung Zeroes and lots more. Dogmachine Records was DIY all the way. Thankfully in the beginning there was no real shortage of people willing to help out. But even still, Jeremiah handled everything from distro to graphic design. Overwhelmed, out of money and slightly inexperienced on the innerworkings of an indie label, the buzz died down and Dogmachine Records went dormant in 1999.

Then in 2000 things picked up and some new acts were signed. What Jeremiah believes to be some of the best bands around: Diesl, Fourth Quarter Jinx, Sundown Radio and Trouble With Stereo. After about a year of good success, things began to die down once again. Right about this time, Jeremiah began doing some freelance design work for bands. Dogmachine had been DIY since the start and by this time Jeremiah had been designing nearly everything himself from websites to records. No longer a novice in Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, Javascript he began selling his services to indie bands and Dogmachine Media was officially named and the label was put to sleep. In the beginning, all Dogmachine Media work was under $100. The $100 maximum charge was done to "help" bands get a professional website for next to nothing. Since the label adventure wasn't as successful, this was Jeremiah's alternate way of helping bands. Needless to say, the work came flying in the door. Jeremiah kept this $100 rule up for the next two years as much as possible at a solid steady pace. Unable to justify the time, the $100 rule was taken out. But staying true to the idea of helping the scene, every so often Dogmachine Media holds drawings for free websites/merchandise designs.

At the end of 2002, Jeremiah began recruiting independent designers to help out. Dan Behrens was the first (thanks Dan!). There would be many to come and go. We're happy to report that nearly all of whom have started their own design firms. As time moved on, Dogmachine Media began landing larger name acts/labels and from overseas still operating solely on word of mouth advertising.

Things have grown since 1997. For one, Dogmachine has branched out into the merchandise sales arena. Newly acquired skills in Photography, Director, Premiere, Flash, PHP and MySQL have enabled DM to become even more creative. Today Dogmachine Media still operates entirely on word of mouth advertising. Even though that will be changing in the near future, the drawings, love of music, art and DIY mentality will remain.
